Hello! I’m Christina Chady, your Admissions Writing Guide.
I have worked in undergraduate admissions for over a decade. I started my career as an admissions officer for WashU (a Top 20 School), where I learned the intricate operations of a competitive admissions office. I later worked for multiple international admissions consulting groups in addition to private counseling. I’ve helped students gain admissions to universities such as Harvard, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Stanford, UChicago, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UMichigan, to name a few. In working 1:1 with students, I learned their most common questions and needs, and I have crafted my services in order to streamline the process.
I graduated from WashU with Honors, earning double majors in Anthropology and International & Area Studies with a minor in Photography. I also hold an MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics from Naropa University, where I was a Graduate Writing Fellow. I have always admired how people share their stories through text and image, which informs my work.
MY APPROACH
I help students make intentional decisions across their application that construct a cohesive, compelling narrative. To streamline the process, I’ve created structures inspired by what I’ve seen work for other students:
Profile Pillars™: A framework for identifying the themes, characteristics, and experiences that can help a student build a more coherent application narrative.
Narrative Growth Trajectory™: A way of helping students move beyond simply describing an experience and instead explore how their thinking, perspective, or identity developed.
Generative Writing Outline™: A process designed to help students discover and develop their writing rather than forcing them into a predetermined essay structure.
What is it like working with me?
Students, families, and colleagues have described my style as: empathetic, supportive, generative, collaborative
My pedagogical approach is student-centered and process-oriented. I meet them where they are and help them find agency within the complex admissions journey. I serve as an expert guide while empowering them to discover and articulate their voice and unique narrative so that admissions officers can get to know the person they are admitting to their campus community.
I am excited to share with you the synthesis of all that I know to help you with the writing sections of your college application. Let’s do this together!
